Most facility managers don’t even realize the corrosion is there until it’s too late and containment has been lost.
The Science of UDC
When the metal is bare and has a higher oxidation potential, it is less stable and more prone to corrosion. This unstable metal loses electrons which is when the corrosion begins. This becomes a vicious cycle of bare metal, oxidation, unstable areas of metal, and then corrosion.
